| THE POSITION The Director of Procurement and Contract Manufacturing is responsible for leading the development and execution of all sourcing strategies, and for all aspects of vendor relationship management. The position reports to the Senior Vice President, Director of Supply Chain, who is a member of the Office of the President. It actively interacts with senior leadership from the operations, marketing and new product development teams. The position is also a member of the Supply Chain Core Team, composed of cross functional senior leadership who collectively manage the strategic direction of all planning, sourcing, manufacturing, and logistical activities. Procurement Philosophy: The procurement group is ultimately accountable for building and managing vendor relationships to ensure cost competitiveness, continuity of supply and consistent quality performance of materials. Its focus is to cultivate relationships with suppliers recognized as leaders in their respective fields and to work with them to yield maximum mutual benefit. Philosophically, the company favors the incumbent suppliers with whom it has built these relationships, preferring the longer term view to achieve improved costs and performance. Fiscal Responsibility: This position is directly responsible for more than $200 million of purchases annually, including all raw vegetable/agricultural products, spices/condiments and packaging. Primary Responsibilities: • Lead and develop the corporate and plant procurement staff, providing coaching, guidance, support and direction; • Develop sourcing strategies and lead negotiations, analyze and communicate significant market trends or events. • Manage all key supplier relationships, including contract manufacturing (Co-Pack); build and lead cross-company and cross-functional alliance teams as appropriate;
